What it costs
Dubai helicopter tour price: what eight flights actually cost
Prices in this city look wide apart until you notice what they are measuring. Nearly every dirham of difference between these eight flights is minutes in the air, and every one of them crosses the same Palm. Here is each flight by price, by price per minute, and by how far down the coast it takes you.

Quick answer
A Dubai helicopter tour price starts at $184 for the short flight over Palm Jumeirah and runs to $911 for the aircraft to yourselves. The seventeen-to-thirty minute flight most people book is $242, and half an hour over the whole city is $454. Six of the eight cancel free up to 24 hours before.

Sorted cheapest first. Cost per minute is the honest comparison, and it shows something useful: the short flights are not the poor relation, because the landmarks start straight away.

What the price is actually measuring
Minutes, and how far down the coast they take you
Every flight crosses the Palm. The price buys how far past it you go.
Strip away the marketing and the eight flights here are one product sold in different lengths. Every single one lifts off from a pad on the Palm and every single one crosses Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis. The money buys distance.
Twelve to fifteen minutes is the Palm and the water around it: the fronds, the crescent, the two Atlantis resorts. That is the postcard, and it is the reason most people came.
Seventeen to twenty-two minutes carries on down the Jumeirah shoreline past the Burj Al Arab on its own island and into the Marina towers. This is the length that feels like a tour rather than a hop.
Thirty minutes is the only flight that gets past the new city entirely: Sheikh Zayed Road, Burj Khalifa, and then the Creek with the wind towers and souks of the old quarter, which is the half of Dubai that is genuinely a hundred years old.
And private is not a longer flight at all. It is twelve minutes with nobody else in the cabin and a car to your hotel at each end, which is a different kind of purchase.
Where the money goes
Six things that move the price
None of these is padding, and knowing them makes the listings much easier to read.
- Minutes in the air
The dominant factor by a wide margin. A helicopter costs the same to run whether it is over the Palm or over the Creek, and every extra minute is fuel, engine life and pilot time.
- How many seats are sold
A shared seat spreads the cost across everyone aboard. A private charter does not, which is why the private flight costs nearly four times a shared seat for the same twelve minutes.
- Whether transport is included
The private flight includes hotel pick-up and both combination days include transfers. That is a car and a driver in Dubai traffic, and it is a real line in the price.
- Whether anything else is bundled
The two combination trips add a guided walk, an abra crossing and snacks, or a desert safari with camels and refreshments. Those are half-day and full-day products with a flight inside them.
- The commentary
Five of the eight include a narrated commentary through the headset. It is a small thing and it is the difference between watching a city and understanding what you are looking at.
- Accessibility
Two flights list step-free access, which requires specific aircraft and ground handling. If it matters to you, those two are the ones to look at.
Every flight on this page crosses Palm Jumeirah. If the Palm is why you are going up, the cheapest ticket shows you exactly the same thing as the dearest.

Three costs that turn up afterwards
The taxi, the reflections and the cancellation terms on two of the eight.
Getting to the pad. Most of these depart from Palm Jumeirah. If you are staying in Deira or on the Creek that is a real taxi ride across the city, and Dubai traffic in the afternoon is not fast. The private flight and both combination days include transport; the rest do not.
Photographs you cannot use. Not a cash cost and it feels like one. Reflections in the window ruin more helicopter pictures than any other single factor, and the fix is free: wear something dark and switch the flash off before you board.
The two combination days have different terms. They do not carry free cancellation the way the flights do. If your plans might move, that is worth knowing before you book rather than after.
Common questions
Dubai helicopter tour prices, answered
How much is a helicopter tour in Dubai?
From $184 for the short flight over Palm Jumeirah. The flight most people book is $242, half an hour over the whole city is $454, and the aircraft to yourselves is $911.
Why is one flight four times the price of another?
Almost entirely minutes and seats. A twelve-minute shared seat and a twelve-minute private charter cover the same ground; the difference is that nobody else is paying towards the second one. Length accounts for most of the rest.
Which is the cheapest helicopter tour in Dubai?
The short flight from the Palm at $184. It is also the most-reviewed thing on this page, with 5,220 ratings at 4.7, and it crosses exactly the same Palm Jumeirah as every other flight here.
Is the more expensive flight better?
It is longer, and past about twenty-two minutes it reaches parts of the city the short flights do not. But the best-rated flight here is seventeen minutes and the most-reviewed is the cheapest, so price is not the ranking.
Do prices change by season?
Not markedly. These fly all year and the fares are broadly stable. Winter is high season in Dubai generally, so book a few days ahead between November and March.
Can I cancel a Dubai helicopter tour?
Six of the eight cancel free up to 24 hours before. The two exceptions are the combination days — the old town trip and the desert trip — whose terms are different.
